The IPL 2025 mega auction concluded with a two-day long gala event in Jeddah and the teams have already configured their squads for the next IPL cycle.
Although the IPL 2025 is still three and half months away, the cricketing action continues with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). The domestic tournament is seeing participation of some top names, with the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy, Rinku Singh and others in action.

Amid this, Royal Challengers Bengaluru's one of the expensive cadre Krunal Pandya had a day to forget in the tournament on Sunday (December 1). RCB acquired the Baroda player for a whopping Rs 5.75 crore and is expected to play a key part in their campaign.
But Krunal was dismantled by Saurashtra batters in Baroda's SMAT encounter at the Emerald Heights School Ground in Indore. The RCB spinner, who also captains the Baroda side, got batted and conceded 59 runs in his four overs. The likes of Harvik Desai, Ruchit Nair smashed him out of the park on a disappointing afternoon for Krunal and his team as they lost the match by 78 runs.
But another RCB acquisition Manoj Bhandage picked up three wickets as Karnataka bulldozed Tamil Nadu in their match. RCB's new pacer Rasikh Salam Dar also shone with three wickets against Manipur as Jammu & Kashmir managed a crucial win.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indian's Naman Dhir picked up 5 wickets against Hyderabad to help Punjab win a crucial match. MI used their RTM card for Rs 5.25 crore on Naman at the auction, and the Punjab player is showing the reason behind that. His stellar figure of 5 for 19 dismantled Hyderabad in the match.
Kolkata Knight Riders batter Ramandeep Singh played a crucial hand for Punjab as he scored an unbeaten 39 off just 11 deliveries, hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes in the process.
In other matches, Priyansh Arya scored a duck for Delhi but their captain and Lucknow Super Giants batter Ayush Badoni scored an unbeaten 70 off just 39 deliveries to help Delhi win over Himachal Pradesh. Mohammed Shami went wicketless for Bengal against Meghalaya but Delhi Capitals' Abishek Porel scored an unbeaten 61 runs off just 31 balls.
Kerala continued their winning run over Goa in a rain-marred match and their captain Sanju Samson scored 31 runs in 15 balls.
