RCB SWOT Analysis for IPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bangalore have played three finals till date, but have failed to lay their hands on the coveted trophy even once. Despite qualifying for playoffs eight times - third-most by any team in the IPL history, RCB's wait to win an IPL trophy has continued for 16 years now.

RCB, who are playing under Faf du Plessis for the last two years, will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Chepauk on Friday, March 22. RCB again have all the ingredients to make it to the final and win the trophy, but can they really break the jinx this time?

Strength: The experience of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik and Faf du Plessis is RCB's biggest strength. The four icons of the game have the potential to inspire the team in the right direction.

Weakness: Virat Kohli's T20I strike rate has been in question. The batting maestro piles up a lot of runs, but his impact on matches has been under the scanner for a couple of years now. Rajat Patidar also endured a forgettable India debut and will be low on confidence.

Faf du Plessis scored 239 runs at an average of 29.87 in SA20 2024, and it remains to be seen how the 39-year-old will be able to perform in the IPL 2024 for the RCB. Dinesh Karthik had a silent last lesson, and has played a lot of cricket recently. RCB also lack a quality spinner.

Opportunity: There will be opportunity for youngsters like Will Jacks, Cameron Green and Anuj Rawat to ensure a bright future for RCB. RCB superstars are ageing, and the young crop will slowly need to take over the responsibilities.

Threat: What if Mohammed Siraj has a bad decision? Will the newly-inducted pacers Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson and Yash Dayal step up? Karn Sharma is the only recognised spinner in the squad, and will turn back the clock to do the job for RCB.
