Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are yet to renew the contracts of head coach Sanjay Bangar and director of cricket operations Mike Hesson, ESPNcricinfo has reported. The Faf du Plessis-led side finished sixth in the IPL 2024 and the delay in renewal is being related to a possible revamp in the coaching setup of the Bengaluru-based team.
The report has added that contacts are usually renewed around September but the RCB management is mulling a few major changes to the coaching staff.

"Their contract with RCB is still intact. The team is still under the process of review. We will come back if any announcement on the changes in the team," RCB said in a statement.
Mike Hesson came on board in August 2019 following after RCB finished last that year. Bangar, the former India batting coach, took charge ahead of the IPL 2022 season. He succeeded Simon Katich in the role.
RCB lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator of IPL 2020 season. In the following season they lost in the Eliminator to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In IPL 2022, they lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2. In the latest edition, RCB failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Recently, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) replaced head coach Andy Flower with Australia's Justin Langer. RCB could soon become the second team to revamp their coaching setup ahead of IPL 2024.
