Star India batter Virat Kohli has been away from action since the T20I series against Afghanistan in January, missing the five-match Test series England due to personal reasons and there was no official update on his return date.
The former India captain, however, is expected to make his much-awaited return to competitive cricket in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Most of the players including skipper Faf Du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell as well as latest recruit Alzarri Joseph have arrived for the pre-tournament camps, but Kohli is yet to link up with his teammates.
The franchise is preparing for a star-studded RCB Unbox 2024 event at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday (March 19), when the new jersey will be unveiled alongside the much-anticipated name change to Royal Challengers 'Bengaluru'.
Kohli has been central to all the previous events organized by the RCB including the last RCB Unbox event, in which legends Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers were inducted in the RCB hall of fame. Kohli had missed the first RCB unbox event on Church Street due to his involvement in a Test match.
But will Kohli be attending the event this year, which will see the likes of DJ Alan Walker, Raghu Dixit, Brodha V, Jordindian, Barfi, Kutcheri and Neeti Mohan performing in Bengaluru.
According a report on ESPN Cricinfo, the former RCB captain will join the training camp before the opener. So, that indicated his availabilty for the event in Bengaluru.
The star India batter was seen for the first time since the birth of his son Akaay. Kohli arrived in Mumbai and is reportedly set to fly to Bengaluru to join the RCB camp either tonight or Monday (March 18) morning.
With RCB Unbox 2024 event scheduled to take place only on Tuesday (March 19), a day after Kohli joins the camp, the former skipper is likely to be in attendance for the big occasion as the team is set for name change after 16 seasons.
Kohli has been associated with the franchise since the foundation in 2008, and it is very likely that the legend will be part of the event alongside all his other teammates. Even De Villiers and Gayle could be part of the extravaganza that will see some Sandalwood stars also in attendance.
RCB will open their campaign against Chennai Super Kings on Friday (March 22) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai before they host Punjab Kings for their first home game on March 25.
