Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batter Virat Kohli is set to join Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik for players with 250 appearances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday (May 12).
The former RCB skipper will play his 250th match tonight at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in crucial clash against the Delhi Capitals. While he becomes the fourth player to achieve the huge milestone, Kohli will become the first to make as many appearances for a single team.

Dhoni, Rohit and Karthik, who have been part of the lucrative league since it's inception in 2008, reached the landmark earlier, but the trio have represented more than one team in their IPL career. Kohli, meanwhile, has been part of RCB since he was roped in the very first season.
In 249 matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kohli has amassed 7897 runs including 8 hundreds and 55 fifties at an average of 38.71 and a strike rate of 131.63. The 35-year-old has smashed 698 fours and 264 sixes in his IPL career.
Apart from the contribution with the bat, Kohli, who is the leading run-scorer, has also claimed 113 catches, the most in IPL history, and also executed several run outs with his excellent fielding.
Kohli also holds the record for most hundreds in IPL with 8 centuries, and he also owns the record for most runs scored in a single IPL season with 973 runs in 2016, when he missed out on winning the title.
Kohli, who has never been part of an IPL winning side, is once again the leading run-scorer in the ongoing season, having scored 634 runs in 12 innings, including 1 hundred and 5 fifties.
