Tim David reached 1,000 Indian Premier League runs on 31 January, becoming the second fastest batter to the mark. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru player hit the milestone in 560 balls, behind only Andre Russell, who needed 545 deliveries for the same landmark.

The record came during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's home match against Delhi Capitals at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Batting in the middle order, Tim David struck 26 from 17 balls, with three fours and one six, before Axar Patel dismissed the Australian batter.
