Virat Kohli failed to continue his run-scoring spree in the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals on Thursday (April 10).
The RCB batter made a promising start to his knock, hitting shots exquisitely. But Virat's knock was curtailed as he departed after scoring 22 runs, not before hitting 1 four and 2 sixes.

Although Virat's innings was short-lived, the player almost managed to notch up another prestigious record in the brief time that he batted.
Kohli departed after 22 runs in 14 deliveries, thus falling short of by just 5 runs of reaching a personal milestone.
The RCB star started the day with 1057 runs against Delhi Capitals over the years in IPL. In his prestigious IPL career, Virat has scored 8190 runs and has scored over 1000 runs against four different opponents. But he has scored the most runs against CKS in the tournament, amassing 1084 runs, and needed only 28 runs to eclipse that record.
But it seems Kohli will have to wait a bit more to rewrite his personal milestone. The good thing is he will have another chance as the two teams meet against this season on April 27. Incidentally, RCB will not play CSK anymore in the group stages and the two teams shall only meet in the playoffs.
RCB posted a total of 163 for 7 in their 20 overs. The innings witnessed a promising start but was later hindered by a middle-order collapse. Tim David's late surge was instrumental in reaching a competitive score.
The bowling attack of DC, particularly the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam, played a pivotal role in restricting RCB. Kuldeep delivered an economical spell, conceding only 17 runs and taking 2 wickets, while Nigam complemented with figures of 2 for 18. Their combined efforts curtailed RCB's momentum during the middle overs.
