A clinical Gujarat Titans secured a magnificent victory at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday (April 2) as they beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 8 wickets in the IPL 2025.
RCB suffered their first defeat of the season and their homecoming turned sour on the night. The Titans have now secured consecutive wins this season and will be hoping to continue their momentum.

After being asked to bowl first, GT's bowlers kept RCB in check, with Mohammed Siraj starring with figures of 3 for 19. RCB struggled early, losing Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal cheaply. Liam Livingstone's 54 and handy knocks from Jitesh Sharma (33) and Tim David (32) helped them post 169/8.
In reply, GT's chase was smooth and clinical. Sai Sudharsan scored 49, while Jos Buttler anchored the innings with a composed half-century. The Titans never looked in trouble and wrapped up the chase with overs to spare, handing RCB a tough defeat at home. Buttler remained unbeaten on 73 runs while Sherfane Rutherford also scored a decent 30 runs.
It was a magnificent bowling performance from the Gujarat Titans Bowlers who restricted a star-studded RCB batting lineup for just 169 runs. Virat Kohli, Phil salt and other RCB batters failed to make a mark as the GT Pacers hit the full throttle from the very start.
The turning point of the match was definitely the first 6 overs from the Titans' bowlers who dismantled RCB batting and picked up four wickets. Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj and Arshad Khan - all were in the act and made crucial contributions for the Gujarat outfit.
Siraj was especially amazing, as the former RCB player dismantled his former employers with three wickets and a man of the match performance. Newbie Arshad Khan was also excellent, as he knocked over Virat Kohli and as the RCB stalwart got dismissed for just seven runs. Rajat Patidar was Ishant Sharma's victim as the veteran Indian pacer inflicted serious damage.
In the end, the GT pacers ended up with a combined figure of 89 for 6 in their 12 overs.
