RCB vs GT: Mohammed Siraj sets Twitter on fire with his sensational spell - 'Getting ready for T20 World Cup'

RCB vs GT: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Mohammed Siraj roared back to form and set Twitter (now X) on fire with his opening burst against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, May 4.

Siraj, who had six wickets from nine games ahead of the match, dismissed both the Gujarat Titans openers. The 30-year-old first dismissed Wriddhiman Saha for one off seven balls, before returning for his second over to pick the wicket of GT captain Shubman Gill.

Gill also played seven balls and could score only two runs. The 24-year-old batter hasn't found a place in 15-member India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad. However, he has been named in the reserves list.

But fans celebrated the sensational spell from Siraj, who has been named as one of the three specialist pacers in the 15-member squad. The first two overs saw him pick two wickets for nine runs. Here's how fans reacted to his spell.

The twin blows from Siraj completely derailed GT's batting unit. Cameron Green dismissed in-form batter Sai Sudharsan (6), Karn Sharma got rid of dangerous David Miller (30). Shahrukh Khan was looking but he was run out by Virat Kohli for 37 off 24 as RCB were left reeling at 87/5 in 12.4 overs.

The selectors have shown confidence in Siraj despite his below-par performance in the IPL 2024. Siraj will be taking onus of the pace bowling unit alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh.
