Bengaluru, April 26: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will look to avenge the reverse fixture loss when they host Kolkata Knight Riders in match 36 of IPL 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday (April 26).
RCB led by Faf Du Plessis head into the match on the back of two wins on the trot that places them in fifth on the points table, while Nitish Rana's KKR are fresh from back-to-back defeats that leaves them in eighth spot.
Although KKR occupy the bottom half of the table with fours points, the two-time champions will be confident against a team who they dominated for a win earlier this season. RCB, however, will hope home comforts will help them.
But, it's the visitors, who have the advantage in this fixture over the years whether the match is played at home or away as they have been the most successful side in their visits to M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
In the 31 meetings between the two sides in IPL so far, KKR holds the edge with 17 wins against RCB, who have won 14 such ties. The Knights also won the reverse fixture earlier this month in Kolkata.
In the reverse fixture, KKR rode on Shardul Thakur's quickfire fifty to set a target of 205 before the spin trio of Sunil Narine, Varun Chakaravarthy and Suyash Sharma bundled out RCB for 123.
In Bengaluru, RCB and KKR have clashed 10 times so far. It's advantage KKR as they have beaten RCB in their own backyard 6 times, while the Bengaluru-based side has won 4 times against the Kolkata-based side at home.
