Reece Topley was injured while fielding during RCB vs MI IPL 2023 match at Bangalore's M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday. The Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer suffered shoulder dislocation during the eighth over when he dived to stop the ball at short fine leg.
Topley remained laying on the ground following the fielding effort while wrenching in pain as he held his shoulder. The Englishman was soon attended to by RCB's physio on the field and was helped out of the ground. He was later declared unfit to play the rest of the match.

Commentator Ian Bishop confirmed the news of his shoulder dislocation while on air. The injury adds to RCB's injury concerns as they already are without Rajat Patidar and Josh Hazlewood, who are recuperating from injuries. A further update is expected on Reece Topley's condition.
Reece Topley made his IPL debut on the day with Hazlewood missing and took a wicket on the day as well. The 29-year-old pacer took the big wicket of Cameron Green, who also made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians after being bought for a record-breaking amount of Rs 17.5 crore during the mini-auction earlier in the year. The Australian batter could only score 2 runs on the day.
Topley, who could bowl just two overs on the day before getting injured, was bought for Rs 1.90 crore. Starting at a base price of Rs 75 lakh, MI, RCB, and Chennai Super Kings bid for the English pacer. Topley was part of England's T20 World Cup squad but was later withdrawn due to ligament damage to his left ankle.
