Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will host Mumbai Indians (MI) in their first match of the IPL 2023 campaign on Sunday (April 2) at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore. Two teams will be hoping to start with a win in the new season.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis and MI captain Rohit Sharma have the same aim in mind for different reasons - that is to win the IPL trophy. RCB have never won it and would dearly love to win one, while MI hope to break their last season blues out of mind with a positive start to the new season.
