As Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final today (June 3) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, a huge scare has already arrived at the RCB camp, and its not the weather.
Ahead of the much-anticipated final, RCB's star batter Phil Salt has been missing from the team training, raising huge concerns of his availability for the final.

Phil Salt was not seen at the RCB team training on Monday (June 2), ahead of the huge final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Salt, who has been a pillar of the RCB unit at the top of the order, missed out the session and his absence raised various questions.
Along with Virat Kohli, Salt has been a pivotal part of the RCB batting and his potential absence has already concerned the RCB fans.
According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, Phil Salt might not even be in Ahmedabad for the crucial clash against Punjab Kings, with indications suggesting he has flown back home to be with his partner for the birth of their first child.
Despite the growing speculation, Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach Andy Flower and stand-in captain Rajat Patidar have remained tight-lipped about Salt's status, understandably so, given the significance of the match and the strategic advantage in keeping such developments under wraps.
Interestingly, Flower has earned a reputation for his tactical mind games. On previous occasions, he has even made injured players participate in pre-match warm-up routines to mislead the opposition- a classic ploy in his psychological playbook.
Salt's absence from RCB's final training session in Ahmedabad has only intensified the rumours surrounding his availability. All signs now point towards his return home for the birth of his child, though official confirmation remains elusive.
In the IPL 2025, the Englishman has so far scored 387 runs and has looked in ominous touch. Salt won the IPL last season with Kolkata Knight Riders, but incidentally, was not part of the KKR squad in the playoffs due to national duty.
