RCB vs PBKS: A rain-hit evening at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium saw Punjab Kings (PBKS) outclass Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by five wickets in a truncated 14-over-per-side contest, but it was Tim David's lone hand with the bat that kept RCB from complete disaster - making him the unsung hero in a game that heavily favored the visitors.

RCB, put in to bat under overcast skies, were rocked early by Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen, who accounted for big names like Phil Salt (4), Virat Kohli (1), and Krunal Pandya (1) in the Powerplay. The scoreboard read a dismal 33/5 at one stage, and the hosts were staring at an embarrassing total.
Enter Tim David.
With wickets falling around him, David held his nerve and launched a counterattack that momentarily breathed life into RCB's innings. He smashed a blistering 50 not out off just 26 balls, peppering the boundary with three fours and five massive sixes, and showed excellent composure while the rest of the lineup crumbled. No other batter even crossed 25, and David's strike rate of 192.31 stood in sharp contrast to the chaos around him.
His valiant effort propelled RCB to 95/9 in their allotted 14 overs - a total that was far more respectable than it looked destined to be.
In reply, Punjab Kings approached the chase with positive intent. Openers Prabhsimran Singh (13 off 9) and Priyansh Arya (16 off 11) got off to a quick start before both fell in the space of an over. The chase then briefly stumbled as Hazlewood (3/14) sparked a mini-collapse, removing skipper Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis in the span of three balls.
However, Nehal Wadhera's classy unbeaten 33 off 19 balls ensured that PBKS always stayed ahead of the asking rate. He was well supported by Marcus Stoinis (7*) in the final moments, as PBKS chased down the target in just 12.1 overs, finishing at 98/5.
