RCB vs RR: Top memes as Yuzvendra Chahal dismisses his former Bangalore teammate Virat Kohli in IPL 2024 Eliminator

RCB vs RR: Rajasthan Royals (RR) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took the prized wicket of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli in the IPL 2024 Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, May 22.

Notably, Chahal played with Kohli for eight years at the RCB before moving to RR in 2022. The leg-spinner is the leading wicket-taker for Bangalore till date, and with the wicket of his former IPL captain Kohli, he also became the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan in the IPL. It was Chahal's 66th wicket for Rajasthan.

On the second ball of the eighth over, Chahal invited Kohli (33 off 24) by bowling a flighted delivery in the slot. The star batter, also the leading run-scorer in IPL 2024, accepted the challenge and unveiled his slog sweep only to get caught in the deep mid-wicket.

A devastated Kohli walked back to the pavilion with his head down, while Chahal celebrated in a quiet, still pumped up fashion. Kevin Pietersen, who was on commentary duty for JioCinema at the moment, reckoned that Chahal picked a wicket "against his own team".

Fans also took the opportunity to flood the internet with Yuzvendra Chahal and Virat Kohli-inspired memes. Have a look.

Yuzvendra Chahal finished with figures of 1/43 in four overs. He is currently the joint fourth-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2024. The T20 World Cup-bound India star has picked 18 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 28.44 and an economy rate of 9.48.

RCB finished their innings at 172/8 at the end of 20 overs. Avesh Khan picked three wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin two, while Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma picked a wicket each. Rajat Patidar top-scored for RCB with 34 off 22.
