RCB vs RR: Rovman Powell's catch to dismiss Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis in the IPL 2024 Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad stunned the cricket world on Wednesday, May 22.
On the fourth ball of the fifth over, Trent Boult bowled a short delivery to du Plessis as the right-hander pulled it towards mid-wicket. However, the former South Africa skipper could not connect properly as Rovman Powell came in sprinting from deep mid-wicket and made a full-stretched dive on his front to grab a stunner.

The West Indies captain was parallel to the ground when he completed the stunning catch to send du Plessis packing for 17 off 14. "Fingers are under the ball. He has taken it fairly," the third umpire said as Rajasthan Royals broke the 37-run opening stand off 28 balls.
Earlier in the match, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first. Samson reckoned that dew will have a role to play in the second half.
Rajasthan have lost four matches on the trot, and their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who qualified for IPL 2024 final on Tuesday, was abandoned due to rain. On the flip side, RCB won six matches on the bounce to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs.
The team winning the Eliminator will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, May 24. SRH lost to KKR in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday.
