RCB WPL 2024 Playoff Qualification Scenario: How can Smriti Mandhana and co. qualify for the Playoffs?

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women have had a topsy-turvy first half of the Women's Premier League 2024.

After a blockbuster first couple of games, they have found themselves out of order in the last two matches and are in need of another revival.

RCB Women WPL 2024

After the first four WPL 2024 matches, RCB Women are sitting in the 4th spot with 4 points after four matches. Although they are not far off the playoffs as the third-placed UP Warriorz are only ahead of them by virtue of NRR, things need to change soon for Smriti Mandhana and co.

RCB started with victories against UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants, but then lost the matches quite heavily against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, which has halted their upsurge.

They are set to play UP Warriorz on Monday (March 4), which is going to be the last match for them in Bangalore. And as the Bangalore girls chase the top three spots, here is how they can get it-

RCB Women WPL 2024 Playoff Qualification Scenario: How RCB-W can make it toTop Three?

At the halfway stage of the WPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore haven't been as miserable as they were last season. They are currently sitting 4th, and to make their case stronger for the playoffs, the next match is going to be pivotal. If Royal Challengers Bangalore can beat UP Warriorz in the next match, then they will have a certain advantage over their counterparts.

If RCB Women win at least three out of their next four matches including the UPW match, they can qualify for the playoffs and even make it to the Top, but in that case, they will have to lose against Gujarat Giants and hope the Giants beat some of the other teams (preferably MI and DC).

The scenario of RCB-W winning the UP Warriorz match, and then only get one victory out of their final three matches is also favourable. They can still qualify for the playoffs if the Gujarat Giants beat UP Warriorz.

If RCB win only one out of their next four matches, and if that is against UP Warriorz, that also keeps them in the playoff hunt, but in that case, UP will have to lose all of their next four matches and Gujarat Giants can't win more than two out of their final four matches.

Overall, they need at least two wins out of the next four matches to keep themselves in the hunt. Interestingly, if RCB Women win all of their next four matches, they can even finish at the top of the table and qualify straight for the Final.
