"Retired' Yousuf now ready to make comeback to cricket if elders advise

Lahore, May 26 (ANI): Former Pakistan captain Mohammed Yousuf has said that he is ready to come out of retirement if his elders ask him to do so.

Yousuf had retired from all forms of cricket in the protest against an indefinite ban imposed by him on the Pakistan Cricket Board's inquiry commission's report, which held him responsible for infighting in the team during the disastrous tour Down Under in January-February.

"If they (elders) want me to withdraw the decision, I may make a comeback in the cricket world," The News quoted Yousuf, as saying.

Earlier, newly appointed Test captain Shahid Afridi had said that he would ask Yousuf to come out of retirement and to play for Pakistan once again.

Afridi had said that he wanted Yousuf to be part of the Pakistan squad for the tough forthcoming 'home' Test series against Australia and England in England.

"I still believe Yousuf can play international cricket for two to three more years," he had said. (ANI)
