Alongside this prestigious role, Richa was also honoured with the state's Banga Bhushan award as a mark of appreciation for her cricketing achievements. Apart from that, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) also handed her a Rs 34 lakh cash reward for her heroics.

At 22, Richa Ghosh was a star performer in India's victorious World Cup campaign, scoring 235 runs in eight matches with an average of 39.16 and an impressive strike rate of 133.52. Her powerful batting included hitting 12 sixes, matching the record for most sixes in a single Women's World Cup edition. She played crucial innings such as a scintillating 94 against South Africa in Vizag and a vital 34 in the final against the same team in Navi Mumbai.

CAB also presented her with a unique golden bat and ball, signed by former captain Sourav Ganguly and legendary pacer Jhulan Goswami. Additionally, the West Bengal government gifted her a gold chain during the ceremony.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee praised Richa's contributions to women's cricket, acknowledging the path laid down by pioneering players like Jhulan Goswami. She highlighted that Richa's achievements have fulfilled India's long-standing dream of clinching an ICC title and expressed hope for continued success without adding undue pressure on the young cricketer.

Earlier on Friday, Richa was welcomed at her hometown Siliguri. The star India women player has been instrumental in the World Cup win, and also has been retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru women ahead of the WPL 2026 mega auction.
