Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting reveals his 'All-Time XI'

London, Aug 11: Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting today (August 11) picked his "All-Time XI" which includes only one Indian.

In recent times, cricketers have revealed their "Greatest XIs" on Lord's Cricket Ground's official Twitter account. And on Thursday, it was the turn of Ponting to make his choices.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is the lone Indian who made Ponting's greatest team, which has Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara as the captain.

Australian's Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer are the openers followed by South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis.

"There's not too many greatest XIs you could pick without Sachin in it," Ponting said of Tendulkar.

"His longevity in the game was remarkable, he had a great record against Australia, and as a captain of an opposition team playing against him, he gave us lots of nightmares and certainly won lots of games, one-day internationals or Test matches," he added.

Both Ponting and Tendulkar face each other in several matches at the international level and after that played together for Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League (IPL). They also took up coaching and mentoring role with the Mumbai franchisee.
