KKR cricketer Rinku Singh's story is one of the most inspiring ones. The Aligarh-born player's transition from rags to riches is an incredible story.
His father is an LPG gas cylinder delivery man and his brother used to work as an auto driver and while his other brother mopped the floors of a local coaching centre. And from that humble background, Rinku has reached enormous heights.

The southpaw was bought by KKR for INR 80 lakh in 2018, but really came to the scene last season. But he has made a huge name for himself this year, especially after his 5 consecutive sixes against Gujarat Titans which helped KKR to win a match out of nowhere.
Amid all the focus, Rinku Singh is reportedly building a hostel for underprivileged cricketers in his hometown Aligarh. The player understands the pain of the needy and wants to give the society something back, and in a bid to that, he is forming a residential unit for cricketers.
His childhood coach Masood Uz Zafar Amini spoke with The New Indian Express and gave light on the project.
"He always wanted to build a hostel for young players, who do not have financial resources to pursue their dreams. As he is financially sound now, he has decided to make it a reality," Amini said.
"Almost 90 percent of the work is done. It will get ready by next month. Rinku will inaugurate it once he is back from the IPL. Hopefully, this facility will make life easier for these youngsters," he added.
The hostel will have 14 rooms and each room can accommodate 4 children for the Aligarh Cricket School, which is run by Amini. Rinku Singh is reportedly closely monitoring the progress and has borne all the expenses. The facility will also have a canteen which will provide quality, healthy food to the players.
The 26-year-old batter has already scored 174 runs this IPL season and will be aiming to continue his scoring prowess in the upcoming matches. The Uttar Pradesh player had a stellar domestic season and will be hoping to carry on his rich vein of form with KKR.
After the match-winning knock against Gujarat Titans, Rinku went on to score his first fifty in IPL in the very next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
