The pace of Rishabh Pant's recovery has taken doctors and medical staff at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru by surprise. The southpaw has now reportedly started his batting practice and is facing 140 kmph deliveries in the nets.
Earlier, when the 25-year-old resumed batting last month, he was only facing throwdowns. However, he is now facing the fast bowlers with ease. That is not it, the 25-year-old is also undertaking wicket-keeping drills.

The news is a welcome one as the entire cricket fraternity including fans have been rooting for the star batter's quick recovery ever since he survived a life-threatening car crash on December 30. Pant suffered major burns and injuries after his car collided in the divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.
Pant is set to miss the upcoming home ODI World Cup which is scheduled to start from October 5. A long road to proper recovery still remains for the Delhi Capitals (DC) captain.
He has worked hard on his recovery so far. The Uttarakhand-born cricketer worked on his mobility, before starting to bat in the nets. He has also quit walking with the support of the crutches.
A few reports have suggested that Pant could make a comeback with India's home Test series against England in January-February next year. However, veteran India pacer and Pant's Delhi teammate Ishant Sharma has opined that he might miss the entire IPL 2024 season as well.
"I feel we might not see Rishabh Pant in the next IPL as well because it is not a small injury. It was a very serious accident. He has just started batting and wicketkeeping and to run and turn after that, there are a lot of things, which is not easy for a wicketkeeper and a batter," Ishant told Jio Cinema recently.
