Rishabh Pant's dismal luck at the Nineties in Test cricket continued as the Indian batter faltered on 99 against New Zealand on Saturday.
Pant was denied a much-deserved century by just one run as he chopped on to the stumps from a delivery and had to take the long walk back to the dressing room from the cusp.

Pant's dismissal for 99 has brought him closer to a unique record among Indian batsmen. He now has seven scores in the 90s in Test cricket. This places him third on the list of Indian players with the most scores in the 90s in Test matches.
Sachin Tendulkar leads this list, having been dismissed in the 90s ten times throughout his illustrious career. Tendulkar concluded his Test career with an impressive tally of 51 centuries before retiring from international cricket in 2013, but the legendary player could have added a lot more had he not been victim of the 'Nervous Nineties'.
Rahul Dravid follows closely behind Tendulkar, having been dismissed nine times in the 90s. The likes of MS Dhoni, and Sunil Gavaskar have fallen to the nineties mark five times in their career.
Rishabh Pant, much to the shock, has been dismissed in the 90s seven times in just 62 innings, by far the lowest among all the players. The next lowest innings tally is for West Indies legend Alvin Kalicharan, who also got out seven times in the 90s in 109 innings.
In World cricket, Michael Slater finds his name along with Rahul Dravid with 9 dismissals in the ninety mark in Test cricket. There are a few other players who have fallen victim to their nerves in the 90s, here are the Ten players with the most dismissals-
