Rishabh Pant Form Boost for LSG, Rinku Singh Finish Lifts KKR Confidence, Say Experts
While Punjab Kings celebrated a dominant victory, Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders took away important lessons from their respective matches in IPL 2026, with experts highlighting individual performances that could shape the remainder of their campaigns.
Lucknow Super Giants suffered defeat but found encouragement in captain Rishabh Pant's return to form, something experts believe could be vital for the team's revival.

Speaking on JioHotstar's Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live, former New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan pointed out that Pant's batting display offered a significant positive for the struggling side.
"The big takeaway would be Rishabh Pant getting some runs. He actually looked pretty solid and seemed to be getting back to his old self. That's what Lucknow are going to need," McClenaghan said on JioStar.
He also noted concerns around the form of Nicholas Pooran, who has yet to find rhythm this season.
"Nicholas Pooran still looks horribly out of form, unfortunately for LSG. We don't know when Inglis is going to turn up. So, Rishabh Pant's form is going to be important for them to win fixtures going forward," he added.
McClenaghan highlighted that Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram also showed promise, suggesting that the middle-order combinations remain flexible but require greater consistency.
"When you are chasing 255, you need someone to score a hundred. So, who in that side is going to score your hundreds? It's going to be Markram, Mitch Marsh, Rishabh Pant, or Nicholas Pooran," he said.
Rinku Singh delivers timely finish for KKR
Elsewhere, Kolkata Knight Riders finally secured their first win of IPL 2026, thanks largely to a composed finishing effort from Rinku Singh. The victory came at a crucial time, ending a difficult run and boosting confidence within the camp.
Former India captain Anil Kumble praised Rinku's composure under pressure, emphasizing the importance of his presence at the crease during a challenging chase.
"It was much needed for KKR and Rinku Singh. He's a class player and a good finisher. It was important for KKR that he stayed until the end," Kumble said on JioStar.
KKR had found themselves in trouble after losing six wickets for just over 80 runs, leaving them with a significant chase still ahead. However, Rinku's calm approach ensured the team stayed in control during the closing stages.
"They were in trouble, having lost six wickets for 80-odd, and still needed 70 runs. To get those in good time, under pressure, was really impressive," Kumble added.
Kumble also noted that the victory could act as a turning point for the struggling side, especially after several close losses earlier in the tournament.
"They've had some close moments, so to get those two points and that first win certainly gives them a lot of confidence. Rinku Singh and Ajinkya Rahane would certainly be happy," he concluded.
With the tournament progressing into its crucial phase, individual performances such as Pant's resurgence and Rinku's finishing ability could play a defining role in shaping the fortunes of their respective teams in IPL 2026.
