Rishabh Pant made the biggest headline on Saturday (September 21) after hitting a hundred in his comeback Test match. Playing in the second innings of his first Test match since his near-fatal car accident in December 2022, Pant slammed a 124-ball hundred at the Chepauk in Chennai.
The ton was Rishabh Pant's sixth as he equalled MS Dhoni's record for most hundreds by an India wicketkeeper-batter. His 109-run innings off 128 balls consisted of 13 fours and four sixes.

The knock and the 167-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Shubman Gill, helped India set a 515-run target for Bangladesh. Fans and former cricketers were full of praises for the 26-year-old, and his breezy knock despite playing his first Test match in 21 months.
Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal, who is in India for his commentary stint with broadcasters Sports18 Network, did not hesitate when he declared that Rishabh Pant will end up owning the record of wicketkeeper-batter to hit most Test hundreds.
“I can assure you he will have the most hundreds as a wicketkeeper,” Tamim Iqbal said during the tea break on Day 3 of the Chennai Test.
Former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel, who was standing alongside Iqbal, added that Pant would end up scoring more than 20 Test hundreds.
“I can see him scoring more than 20 hundreds,” Parthiv Patel said.
26-year-old Rishabh Pant has played just 34 Test matches till date but scored six Test hundreds. The tally would have been far more higher, but the attacking batter has got out in the 90s seven times in his growing career so far. He also missed a dozen Test matches due to his long injury layoff post the horrific accident.
