Punjab Kings spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was largely injured and played with broken ribs, as per a latest revelation by his friend RJ Mahvash.
The PBKS spinner, who was bought for Rs 18 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, played a crucial part for the team as the Kings reached the IPL final after 11 years.

Although Punjab lost the final against RCB, their efforts and performance under captain Shreyas Iyer has been massively hailed across the cricket fraternity. Chahal also did decently well in the tournament. Despite a slow start and absence in a few matches due to injury, Chahal ended up picking 17 wickets for PBKS in the IPL 2025 season.
And in a social media post, RJ Mahvash, who was spotted with Chahal in the Punjab Kings camp, posted a heartfelt message, dedicating to the team. Her post also had a special mention for Yuzvendra Chahal, where she revealed the star player performed despite having broken ribs and then a fractured finger.
"They fought, stayed and played till the last match! And special post to @yuzi_chahal23 because what people don't know is that his ribs got fractured in the second match only and his bowling finger got fractured later, this guy played the entire season with 3 fractures!" RJ Mahvash posted on her Instagram profile.
"We all have seen him screaming and crying in pain but have never seen him giving up! I mean what warrior spirit you have man ?? The team kept fighting till the last ball! It was nothing but an honour to be a supporter of this team this year! Well played boys ?? All the people in these pictures have my heart ??See you next year! Also, many congratulations to RCB and fans for winning the title. Everyone played and worked hard! Cricket , and IPL ..my God again! Truly a festival for us indians," her post concluded.
