Robin Minz, the emerging star of Jharkhand cricket has bagged a lucrative deal at the IPL 2025 mega auction as five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians bought him for Rs 65 lakh.

Minz, who was part of the Gujarat Titans squad last year, couldn't play a game after suffering a bike accident just before the tournament.

The young player from the Gumla district has battled many hardships but will be hoping to finally kickstart his journey at the grandest stage of franchise competition. After his magnificent deal at the mega auction, MyKhel caught up with Robin Minz's father, Mr. Francis Xavier Minz.

"The feeling is magnificent. It's even better than the last one. I talked with Robin. As soon as he was sold, I called him and we talked. He was very happy as well," he told MyKhel, as the player is currently with the Jharkhand team.

The proud father also said the height his son has reached makes the entire family buoyant. The father reminisces about his son's emergence and says Robin has reached the level that they can only dream of.

"The feeling of a father [his] is very high. For the father, for the mother, for the family, when the child excels in life. And when he goes to a level where we can only dream, there can be no greater achievement for the parents than that," he added.

The youngster from Jharkhand is currently playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Even on Monday, the new Mumbai Indians player scored a brisk 36 off just 12 deliveries, hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes in the process. Incidentally, Jharkhand's SMAT group stage matches are being played in Mumbai as well, which must be a happy coincidence for the player.
