Robin Uthappa wins heart in India vs Pakistan WCL final, rescues struggling Misbah-ul-Haq out of Edgbaston

Robin Uthappa on Saturday won hearts after helping struggling former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq limp back to the dressing room after suffering a hamstring injury during the World Championship of Legends final between India Champions and Pakistan Champions at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Misbah-ul-Haq was batting on 18 off 15 when he decided to get retired hurt and walk back to the pavilion. The 50-year-old could hardly walk as Indian Champions wicketkeeper-batter Robin Uthappa stepped forward to lend a helping hand to Misbah.

In the video posted by official streaming partner FanCode, Misbah can be seen putting his hand on Uthappa's soldier and thanking him for the gesture. Uthappa can also be seen signalling towards the dug out for medical support. Here's the video.

Yuvraj Singh-led India Champions lifted the trophy by beating Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the summit clash. After opting to bat first, Pakistan Champions were restricted to 156/6 by India Champions bowlers. Anureet Singh picked three wickets, while Vinay Kumar, Pawan Negi and Irfan Pathan picked a wicket each. Shoaib Malik top-scored for Pakistan with 36-ball 41.

In reply, India chased down the target with five wickets and five balls remaining. Ambati Rayudu was declared Man of the Match for his 50 off 30 at the top. Yusuf Pathan, who grabbed Man of the Series awards, scored 30 runs off 16 balls.Captain Yuvraj Singh remained unbeaten on 15 off 22.

Pakistan had thrashed India by 68 runs in the league stage encounter. The Younis Khan-led side had lost only one out of their six matches before the final. In the opening match against Australia Champions, Misbah-ul-Haq scored unbeaten 46 runs off just 30 balls. He scored 23 not out runs against England Champions.
