Rohan Jaitley, who was slated to be the next secretary for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is likely to stay away from the post for now.
Rohan, son of late Arun Jaitley, was likely to be the replacement for Jay Shah, who has taken up his new role as the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

But in a new twist, reports have stated that Rohan is currently poised to not fight for a place in the BCCI, but rather strengthen his grip at the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA).
The DDCA election is poised for a compelling contest, with Rohan Jaitley and former India cricketer Kirti Azad going head-to-head in the upcoming presidential elections.
Sangeeta Jaitley, the wife of late Arun Jaitley- an influential figure in both DDCA and Indian politics, had initially entered the fray as a candidate for the President's post. Her nomination was viewed as a contingency plan to ensure leadership stability should her son, Rohan Jaitley, transition to the BCCI. However, her withdrawal has clarified the path ahead: Rohan Jaitley will remain dedicated to DDCA and its elections scheduled for December 13 to 15.
The DDCA elections have brought three groups into the fray, but the presidential race is largely a two-way fight. Jaitley's leadership has garnered support from some quarters, including the Tihara-Paweriya group, though internal differences persist. Vinod Tihara, a candidate for the Secretary's post, expressed cautious support.
"We were and are with him. But it seems he doesn't want us. So, we decided to not fight for the President's post and instead put candidates for other positions. But we will work with whoever becomes President - Jaitley or Azad," said Tihara to The Delhi Junction.
As the fight for the glory heats up in DDCA, the BCCI will be aiming to find a new successor to Jay Shah. There are a few names which are already hovering in the air, but a clearer picture will be coming soon.
