Rohit Sharma on Thursday, March 7 became only the sixth captain to complete 1000 runs in all the three formats of the game. He achieved the fear during his unbeaten 52-run knock off 83 balls on Day 1 of the fifth and final Test against England in Dharamsala.
After England were bundled out for 218 in 57.4 overs, Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal partnered for 104 runs. Jaiswal got dismissed for 57, but the 36-year-old right-hander stayed unbeaten till the end of day's play. Rohit Smashed six fours and two sixes.

Only MS Dhoni, Faf du Plessis, Kane Willaimson, Virat Kohli and Babar Azam had earlier achieved the feat of scoring 1000 runs each in all the three formats of the game as captain.
Overall, Rohit Sharma became just the 10th India captain to achieve this feat. He joined the likes of Virat Kohli, (5,864 runs), MS Dhoni (3,454 runs), Sunil Gavaskar (3,449 runs), Mohammed Azharuddin (2,856 runs), Sourav Ganguly (2,561 runs), MAK Pataudi (2,424 runs), Sachin Tendulkar (2,054 runs), Rahul Dravid (1,736 runs) and Kapil Dev (1,364 runs).
Further, Rohit Sharma also equalled Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan record for partnering over 1000 runs with most partners. Sehwag, Dhawan and Rohit have partnered over 1000 runs with four partners each now.

After England opted to bat first, Kuldeep Yadav picked a five-wicket haul to derail the innings of the visitors. Ravichandran Ashwin, who is playing his 100th Test match, also picked three wickets.
