Rohit Sharma is the greatest batter to play for India and he is ahead of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat, Pakistan pacer Junaid Khan has said. The 33-year-old gave the reply after being asked who among Kohli and Tendulkar was the greatest India batter.
The left-arm pacer, who last played for Pakistan in 2019, explained why the cricket world calls Rohit Sharma the 'Hitman'. He pointed out that Rohit Sharma has not one but three triple hundreds to his name. He also talked about Rohit Sharma's ability to his sixes. Notably, the India captain has the most T20I sixes to his name. In ODI cricket he is one of the only three batters to hit more than 300 sixes.

"I am going to say Rohit Sharma (when asked who's the top batter India has produced between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli). He has all kinds of shots in his arsenal. Virat is a great player. But the way Sachin batted in a different era, he would have scored more than 100 centuries in today's time.
"Everybody calls Rohit 'The Hitman' because of his incredible 264. He has also scored multiple double hundreds (in ODIs). This is rare, because he has done it more than once. He has also hit the most number of sixes," Junaid was quoted as saying on the Nadir Ali Podcast.
Rohit Sharma has taken a break from white-ball cricket and will next be seen leading India in the 2-Test series against South Africa in December. Reports have suggested that Rohit Sharma could be seen leading India at the T20 World Cup 2024.
Further, Junaid Khan also revealed that Zaheer Khan inspired him since his early days. He said Wasim Akram had retired when he started playing cricket, and took inspiration from the former India left-arm pacer.
"I like the action of Zaheer Khan, I learnt some skills from him and he was my favourite bowler from U-19 days." Junaid Khan said.
Junaid Khan has played 22 Test matches and 76 ODIs for Pakistan. He has 71 Test wickets and 110 ODI wickets to his name. He has also picked nine T20I matches and eight wickets at an average of 29.50.
