Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane among big names as Mumbai announce 35-man squad for off season camp

Mumbai Cricket Association has announced a 35-member squad for an off-season training camp. The newly appointed selection committee led by former India cricketer Raju Kulkarni named probable for the training camp on Friday (June 2).

India captain Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav have been named among the probable for the camp, which is set to take place in Mumbai next week.

Among the other big names, Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur are also named, but along with India captain Rohit Sharma, the trio won't be able to take part for national duty. India are set to play Australia in the WTC Final starting June 7, and all of the three players are currently in England as part of the Indian team.

Another Mumbai and India player Shreyas Iyer, who is not part of the WTC Final due to a back injury, has also been named among the probable players. Iyer's lower back problem meant he didn't take any part in the IPL 2023 as well, and BCCI slated Iyer to report to NCA two weeks post-surgery.

The list also includes veteran pacer Dhawal Kulkarni, but Siddharth Raut has been dropped. Shivam Dube, who had a brilliant IPL season with Chennai Super Kings is included, and so are the Delhi Capitals trio Aman Hakim Khan, Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan.
