India's cricket captain Rohit Sharma and wife Ritika Sajdeh have named their newborn son Ahaan. Ritika revealed the name through a heartwarming Christmas-themed Instagram Story, delighting fans with a glimpse into their growing family.
The couple, who welcomed their second child earlier this November, shared the exciting news with fans through Ritika's Instagram story featuring a Christmas-themed family ornament displaying the names of all four family members: Rohit (Ro), Ritika (Rits), Samaira (Sammy), and their newest addition, Ahaan.

Ritika's charming reveal left fans delighted, and many took to social media to congratulate the cricket superstar and his family.
The name Ahaan, originating from Sanskrit, holds a profound meaning. It translates to "dawn" or "beginning," symbolising a fresh chapter in the couple’s lives as they embrace parenthood once again. The name also signifies light and positivity, resonating deeply in Indian culture.
Amid family celebrations, Rohit Sharma remains committed to his cricketing duties. Currently in Canberra, he’s leading India’s preparation for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Following a practice match against the Australia PM’s XI, Rohit is set to rejoin the squad for the second Test in Adelaide, a pink-ball encounter starting on December 6.
The Indian skipper has balanced his responsibilities admirably, taking paternity leave earlier to support Ritika during the birth. A devoted family man, Rohit marked his son’s arrival with a F.R.I.E.N.D.S-inspired post, captioned, “The one where we are Four”.
Fans and fellow cricketers alike have showered the Sharma family with congratulatory messages, highlighting their joy for the beloved couple.
The couple, married since December 2015, are also parents to daughter Samaira, born in 2018. Now, with Ahaan joining the fold, the Sharma family embarks on a new journey, brimming with love and hope.
