Rohit Sharma on Wednesday broke Virat Kohli's record for most runs as the captain of the Indian T20I team. The 36-year-old achieved the record by going past Virat Kohli's tally of 1570 runs during the third and final T20I against Afghanistan.
After India were reduced to 22/4, Rohit Sharma took the onus on him to revive the Indian innings and hit his 30th T20I fifty. The 36-year-old played some mind-boggling shots including a reverse-sweep for six.

MS Dhoni is third on the list of batters with most runs as India captains. Dhoni scored 1112 runs in 72 T20I matches. Kohli captained India in 50 T20I matches. Rohit Sharma led India for the 54th time when he took the field at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru for the final match of the three-match series.
