After he claimed to have opted out of the Sydney Test, Indian captain Rohit Sharna should have taken a break from the game. Rohit has been a crucial figure for India.
However, if he's not at his best physically or mentally, a break might actually help him recharge. Cricket is as much about form and rhythm as it is about skill, and sometimes, stepping away can do wonders.

That said, Rohit has often bounced back strongly after rough patches. But the way he is struggling, it is turning out out to be embarrassment. Against England in the opening ODI in Nagpur, he came out to open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal by pushing Shubman Gill to the number three slot.
Unfortunately, the move backfired. Right after Jaiswal, who framed most of the strike got out, Rohit was all at sea once again. He got out in a similar fashion like he did in the Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir, lofting one to the mid-wicket region. It has almost become a habit.
The worst part of the story was his long face. He looked completely lost and didn't know what to do after his dismissal. Such a big player with so much experience has to go through this and that is nothing but misfortune.
Rohit is definitely under pressure, and with the Champions Trophy around the corner, he'll need some solid performances to silence the doubters.
A few good knocks could change the narrative quickly, but if he struggles, the selectors might face some tough decisions. His leadership has been valuable, but in a big tournament like the Champions Trophy, individual form matters just as much.
