Rohit Sharma Injures Left Knee Ahead Of IND-AUS 4th Test, Spotted Applying Ice Pack During Net Session

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma sustained an injury to his left knee during a training session on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia.

The 37-year-old, Mumbai Indians man was struck while practicing in the nets against throwdown specialist Daya.

According to a TOI report, after being struck, Rohit took off his gear and sat down on a chair as the physio brought out an ice pack. Discomfort was evident on the right-hander's face when the pack was applied. The physio then elevated Rohit's left leg onto a chair to ensure he was more comfortable.

The ball has actually gone onto hit the flap of his left fad, which initially left him in some discomfort. The good news is that the Indian fans don't have to worry much as the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning captain didn't have to keep the ice pack for long and later he was seen walking comfortably. It has been reported that he had the pack on his knee for almost 25 minutes.

This is the second time in the last 24 hours that India got an injury scare. It all started with KL Rahul, after a video went viral on the social space, where he was seen getting treatment on his arm by the physio after getting hit during a net session. But it wasn't that much serious compared to Rohit as he was seen in some sort of pain.

With less than 4 days to go, the last thing India would want is having their key players out of action from the penultimate Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The Melbourne Test will commence on Boxing Day on 26th December and the visitors would have nothing in mind but a clear victory to keep themselves in hunt for the World Test Championship Final for the third consecutive time.
