Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and KL Rahul provided an upate on Team India's fitness ahead of their final group game of the Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand in Dubai.
Rohit Sharma is an injury worry and a report on Friday (February 28) claimed that the skipper could be rested by the team management for India's final Group A game, scheduled to be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (March 2) just two days before the semifinal.

According to Indian Express, Rohit has a hamstring issue, which he had sustained during the last match against Pakistan. He even walked off the field in the match allowing Shubma Gill to lead the side, but returned after a brief period to take charge again.
After missing nets on Wednesday (February 27), it was believed that Rohit may indeed be rested for the game against New Zealand with Gill leading the side in his absence. But recent update from Rahul and Ten Doeschate gives a boost to Team India in the lead up to the semi-final.
Rohit Sharma injury update: India assistant coach Ten Doeschate provided some positive news, confirming that the skipper had returned for a longer session at the nets on Friday (February 28). But did not confirm if he will play against the Black Caps on Sunday (March 2).
"He's all right. You can see he's batting a little bit further than earlier. It's an injury he's had before, so he knows how to manage it really well," Ten Doeschate said when asked about Rohit's injury.
Meanwhile, Rahul further added that that there are no significant injury concerns within the team with Rohit and senior pacer Mohammed Shami being doubtful for the match against New Zealand.
"Fitness-wise, I think there's no... I don't know too much, but from whatever I know, I think everything seems pretty okay. There's no real concerns about anyone missing games as far as I know. We'll probably know more in today's training," Rahul said at the press conference.
The Indian wicketkeeper also revealed that all players have been actively participating in training sessions and gym workouts, indicating their readiness for the upcoming match. "Everyone's been in the gym, everyone's been at training the last time as well. So, yeah, little some concerns, but I don't think it's too much," Rahul said.
