Rohit Sharma has learnt his immediate fate after the injury he sustained in the IPL 2026 encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The former India captain suffered a hamstring injury during Mumbai Indians' (MI) IPL 2026 match against RCB at Wankhede Stadium.

Chasing a massive 241-run target, Rohit got off to a brisk start, scoring 19 runs off 13 balls (2 fours and 1 six) in an opening stand of 57 with Ryan Rickelton. In the sixth over, he appeared to pull his right hamstring while running between wickets and limped noticeably. The team physio attended to him on the field, strapping his thigh heavily in an attempt to allow him to continue.
However, after facing one more delivery, Rohit retired hurt and walked off the field in visible discomfort. He did not return to bat as MI fell short by 18 runs.
Rohit Sharma Injury Update: MI star to Undergo Scan
As per Cricbuzz, the Mumbai Indians star is set to undergo scans to assess the severity of his hamstring injury. Sharma will have his hamstring checked on Monday and the results will determine his availability for the remainder of the season.
"I'm not entirely sure yet - perhaps it's a bit of a hamstring issue - but I can't say for certain. I was in the dugout, so I don't have much information on it," his MI teammate Sherfane Rutherford said after the RCB match.

Yes, as of now, the injury is likely a minor one and may heal in the coming days. Rohit's availability for the match against Punjab Kings on April 16 remains a question for now, but he is likely to play further part in this IPL 2026 season.
