India captain Rohit Sharma has entered into an elite list during the T20 World Cup semifinal match against England on Thursday (June 27).
Rohit Sharma led the Indian batting onslaught yet again in the semifinal. Despite Virat Kohli's early dismissal, he held the innings together for India. The match got interrupted with rain and at the time, Sharma is unbeaten on 37 runs in just 26 balls.

During the knock, the India skipper has joined some esteemed names of Indian cricket in a prestigious list. Sharma is the 5th and latest Indian captain to score over 5000 international runs across all formats as captain.
The 37-year-old currently has 5013 runs across all formats as captain (37 not out in this innings till now). Out of those, 1876 runs have come for him in T20I format.
Among the India captains, Virat Kohli is the highest scorer as captain as he scored 12883 runs across formats in his captaincy days. Former India captain MS Dhoni sits 2nd in the list with 11,207 runs. The list is followed by Mohammad Azharduddin (8095) and Sourav Ganguly (7643).
