The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who started the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 with a terrific hundred in Nagpur, failed to carry on his form in the matches that followed in Delhi, Indore and Ahmedabad.

Rohit scored a match-winning hundred in the first Test at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur, but has since seen his form decline and has often failed to convert starts in the remaining three Tests in the series.

Three months later, Rohit once again failed to convert a start as he was trapped LBW by Pat Cummins in the first innings of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023. In the second innings, he threw away his wicket, trapped LBW after a good start.

The Indian skipper, however, put the disappointing run behind by smashing another hundred in the first innings of the first Test against West Indies to open the 2023 tour to the Caribbean in style.

The right-handed opener carried his form to the second Test, scoring 80 in the first innings followed by a quickfire fifty in the second innings. In the two Tests in South Africa, Rohit had mixed outings. He failed in the first Test, but made some contribution in the 2nd Test.

In the series against England, Rohit scored one century, but hasn't looked at his best. Overall, Rohit has had an okay run in the last 20 innings, scoring two centuries and two fifties in that period.
