Rohit Sharma livid as 'selfish' Ravindra Jadeja breaks debutant Sarfaraz Khan's heart by getting him run out
Rohit Sharma was left fuming with anger after a nervous Ravindra Jadeja got debutant Sarfaraz Khan run out after calling for a single and then declining later. In the final minutes of Day 1 play of the third Test in Rajkot, Jadeja pushed a ball towards mid-on and took a couple of steps forward before changing his mind.
Sarfaraz Khan, who was on fire on debut after hitting a 48-ball fifty, responded to the call from his seniors immediately. By the time the 26-year-old realised that he had to run back, Wood's direct throw rattled the stumps to send a heartbroken Sarfaraz Khan back in the pavilion.

Ravindra Jadeja was batting on 99 when the entire mix-up happened, and fans soon flooded social media to declare the senior all-rounder selfish. Jadeja himself wore a guilty look as an emotional Sarfaraz Khan walked back to the pavilion, seemingly trying to control his tears.
There was confusion between Jadeja and Sarfaraz and Jadeja on multiple times during their 77-run partnership off 110 balls. Sarfaraz was also heard urging for taking a single on one occasion. The Mumbai batter made a desperate dive to get back in the crease just two deliveries before the final casuality.
Jadeja took a single to complete his fourth Test hundred on the very next delivery, but celebrated the milestone half-heartedly due to the unfortunate run out of the youngster on the previous delivery.
Rohit Sharma left fuming on Ravindra Jadeja after Sarfaraz Khan run out
As Sarfaraz Khan got run out following the wrong call from Jadeja, Rohit Sharma was seen throwing his cap in anger in the dressing room. The videos and pictures of the incident have gone viral.
Sarfaraz Khan was in his zone and scored 62 runs off just 66 balls to take India past 300. The attacking batting from the right-hand batter had completely pushed England on the back foot, and India looked set to finish Day 1 in a very solid position.
In the first two Tests of the ongoing five-Test series, India have time and again messed up with the opportunity to post heavy runs on the board despite their batters scoring hundreds and double hundreds.
Understandably, the disappointment from Rohit Sharma was because of the same reason. In a recent interview, the 36-year-old had proudly said that it had taken management a lot of time to build a culture where personal goals were secondary.
