Rohit Sharma not picked as captain in Cricket Australia's T20 World Cup 2024 XI, three India stars find place

Rohit Sharma has found a place but not as a captain in Cricket Australia's T20 World Cup 2024 XI announced ahead of the India vs South Africa final in Barbados on Saturday, June 29.

Instead, Afghanistan's Rashid Khan was named the captain of Cricket Australia's T20 World Cup 2024 eleven. Three India stars - Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah have been named in the eleven.

Travis Head has been selected to open alongside India captain Rohit Sharma, who smashed 92 runs against Australia and 57 against England in the semi-final. Travis Head scored 76 runs against India and recently became the number one ranked T20I batter in the world.

West Indies wicket-keeper batter star Nicholas Pooran has been picked to bat at three with USA vice-captain Aaron Jones following him at four. Marcus Stoinis and Hardik Pandya are the two pace-bowling options in the best combined eleven picked by Cricket Australia.

Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, who picked 14 wickets in seven matches, and Rashid spinner are the two spinners in Cricket Australia's team of the T20 World Cup 2024.

The pace department consists of South African Anrich Nortje, India's Jasprit Bumrah and Afghanistan left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi. Nortje and Bumrah have 13 wickets each ahead of the final. Farooqi is the leading wicket-taker with 17 scalps in eight matches. No player from Pakistan, New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka have found place in CA's T20 World Cup 2024 best eleven.
