Rohit Sharma to No Hit Sharma: Former India player's scathing attack amid MI Captain's dismal IPL 2023 Form

Rohit Sharma has been enduring another disastrous IPL season. The Mumbai Indians captain is going through another rough patch and has been struggling all season with a lack of runs and a lack of wins.

Mumbai Indians suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings on Saturday (May 6). They sit 6th in the table and have found themselves in another losing run, with two defeats now in a row.

And their captain Rohit Sharma is also in the middle of a dismal run. He got dismissed for another duck on Saturday, which is the second in a row for the MI skipper. The India captain has scored only 184 runs this season, at an underwhelming average of 18.4.

His struggle has reflected on the status of his team as MI's batting has looked pale and inconsistent. Since his 44-run knock against PBKS last month, the MI captain has managed only 5 runs in the last four innings.

And after Saturday's duck, the MI captain was subject to a scathing attack by former India player and current IPL commentator Kris Srikkanth. Just after Rohit's dismissal, Srikkanth labeled the 36-year-old as "No Hit Sharma".

"Rohit Sharma should change his name to 'NO HIT SHARMA', I will not even play him in the playing 11 if I was Captain of MI," Srikkanth said during commentary.

Rohit takes the record for most IPL Ducks

Rohit Sharma now holds the record for most ducks in IPL. The MI captain registered his 16th duck in the tournament, surpassing Dinesh Karthik (RCB), Sunil Narine (KKR) and Mandeep Singh (KKR) - who all have 15 ducks.

Mumbai Indians will be taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next match on Tuesday (May 9). The Paltans finished at the bottom of the table last season. If they fail to make it to playoffs this season, this will be the first time a MI team miss out on two consecutive playoffs since the first two seasons of IPL.

Mi will play their next two matches at home which may shape their fortunes in this season, but their captain reckons there is no such home advantage. Speaking after the CSK defeat, Rohit said the team on the day playing better cricket will win irrespective of the venue.

"There's no such home advantage this season, everyone has won and lost at home, we need to do all the three departments of the game, we'll play at home in the next two games, we'll see how it goes," he said.
