Rohit Sharma Response to 1st Ball Six Request in Practice Nets Goes Viral

By Rasmi Biswas

India's cricket captain, Rohit Sharma, has always been known for his playful personality both on and off the field, and his recent interaction during a training session perfectly showcased that side of him. Rohit was preparing for India's upcoming Test series against New Zealand.

He shared a lighthearted moment with fans from that practice when a fan asked if he would begin his nets session with a six. His witty response, "Pagal ho gaya kya? (Are you mad or what?)", quickly went viral on social media, leaving fans in splits.

The amusing exchange took place while Rohit was gearing up for the third and final T20I against Bangladesh, just days after leading India to a dominant series win. In the video posted on his Instagram handle, Rohit can be seen stepping into the nets.

That's when someone off-camera posed the question about hitting a six on the first ball. Rohit's candid response struck a chord with fans, especially considering his aggressive batting style. Incidentally, during India's first innings in a recent Kanpur Test, Rohit had opened with two back-to-back sixes.

Aside from his humor, the Indian captain has been focused on preparing for the challenges ahead. With the first Test against New Zealand starting on October 16 at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium, Rohit appears in fine form as evidennt in his Instagram video, where he flawlessly smashes the ball during practice.

Fans are eager to see how Rohit will perform in this critical series, as India looks to maintain its dominance. However, beyond the upcoming series, there are reports suggesting that Rohit might miss one of the first two Tests of the much-anticipated 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

The series is set to start on November 22 in Perth, but due to a pressing personal matter, Rohit has reportedly informed the BCCI that he may need to sit out. The official confirmation is yet to come, but the potential absence of India's captain has already sparked conversations among cricket fans.
