India captain Rohit Sharma recently shared his top three career moments. The 37-year-old cricketer has been a top-class player and has been leading team India since 2021.

And Rohit reflected on his journey in an event. Rohit highlighted three cricketing moments in his career as his most cherished memories.

Rohit's Early Achievements

Rohit made his T20I debut against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup. He scored an unbeaten 30 runs from 16 balls in the final against Pakistan that same year. His performance was crucial in securing India's victory.

In the first final of the CB series in 2008, Rohit scored a vital 66 runs batting at No. 5. This helped India chase down a target of 240 runs within 45.5 overs, giving them a lead in the series.

Recent Triumphs

But the star batter also shone brightly in the recent T20 World Cup held in June 2024. Rohit was India's leading run-scorer as they defeated South Africa in the final on June 29, securing another prestigious title for India.

"Mera 17 saal ka career raha hai (I think I have played this game for 17 years). For 17 years, obviously, from year one to now, there have been so many special moments that I have had, and every big moment, I really cherish it. Whether it was my first year of 2007 winning that World Cup, and then next year we went to Australia and we won the CB series there," he said in a video shared by journalist Vimal Kumar on Instagram.

"And then from there on, I think I have had a lot of good things, also some downs as well but that's how a sportsman's career is. There will be lots of ups and downs. But I want to cherish all the ups that I have in the 17 years or so. I think winning this World Cup (2024 T20 World Cup) will definitely be on the top of the list for sure," he added.

Rohit was not part of the India squad in the 2011 ICC World Cup, which the Indian team won on home soil. He led the team in the World Cup 2023 and the team fell in the final hurdle against Australia. But he was an integral part of the Champions Trophy win in 2013, but it didn't make the top three of his list.

It was indeed a magical moment for the entire nation as India won the T20 World Cup last month. Rohit Sharma became only the 3rd Indian captain to win a World Cup, after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni. The 37-year-old announced his retirement from T20Is but continues to lead the team in other two formats.
