Rohit Sharma's decade-long stint with Mumbai Indians seems to be over after IPL 2024.
The India captain, who led Mumbai to 5 IPL trophies, is likely to leave the franchise after this season. A recent video heightened the speculations of him leaving the Paltans where Rohit could be heard tentatively saying this would be his last year.

The veteran was stripped of captaincy this season as Hardik Pandya joined from Gujarat Titans and took the leadership from Rohit. Things have gone south for them again as MI are already eliminated from the tournament.
Rohit Sharma looks likely to be on his way out. There won't be any shortage of takers for the India captain if he goes into the auction. We may also witness Rohit getting traded to a different team as franchises may want to rope him in without taking the risk of trying to get him from the auction table.
Although the speculations are in the early days, here are three teams that can be perfect for Rohit Sharma if he leaves Mumbai Indians-
Gujarat Titans can sign Rohit Sharma if the player leaves Mumbai Indians. The Titans are in need for an experienced campaigner to lead them as Shubman Gill still looks novice in his leadership skills. Hence Rohit can be a perfect fit to the franchise. With the likes of Asish Nehra as coach, the Rohit-Nehra duo can do wonders for the IPL 2022 champions.
It is a big possibility for Rohit Sharma. He started his career with Deccan Chargers in Hyderabad, and may return there for the next chapter. Even if SRH does well this season, the retention of Pat Cummins is not imperative. If SRH want a captain for next season onwards, Rohit can be the perfect candidate to take over the duties. The India captain won his first IPL title with the Chargers, and he may go back to start afresh.
Perhaps a move to KKR will be the most perfect one for Rohit Sharma. If he wants to play only as a batter, there is none better than a Kolkata deal. From Eden Gardens to the Knights management, everything will fall to places for the MI veteran if he swaps West for East.
The 37-year-old's KKR move can also be perfect because of the coaching personnel of the franchise. With the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Abhishek Nayar at the Kolkata helm, Rohit would feel at home in Kolkata as he has excellent relations with both of them.
