India captain Rohit Sharma is set to join the Indian team in Perth. The India skipper stayed back for the birth of his second child but is now ready to fly to the Australian city.
India's first Test against Australia is set to start on Friday (November 22) at the Optus Stadium in Perth. As Rohit Sharma was unavailable, Jasprit Bumrah has been roped in as the captain for the first match.

Rohit Sharma was being reportedly willing to stay a few more days with his family after the birth of his baby boy, but it seems he will be taking an early flight to Australia.
Rohit Sharma will be joining the Indian team in Perth but won't be part of the first Test match. The Indian team will be led by Jasprit Bumrah. As the match starts tomorrow, it is too early for Rohit to take part in the match.
The India captain is tipped to reach Perth and join the entire squad on Sunday (November 24). Although the departure was delayed due to his baby's birth, the India captain will be reuniting with the time on the 3rd day of the Test.
Rohit Sharma will be taking part in the 2nd Test in Adelaide. He is expected to lead the team in Adelaide, which will be a day-night affair.
In Rohit's absence, Bumrah is set to captain India in Perth. Rohit's absence is compounded with Shubman Gill's unavailability, who is also out with a finger injury. Devdutt Padikkal or Abhimanyu Easwaran will replace him, but the former is leading the race after a decent outing with India A.
"I spoke with Rohit earlier. But I got a little bit of clarity on leading the side after coming in here," Bumrah said at the pre-match press conference ahead of the first Test.
The stand-in India captain also hinted at Mohammed Shami's potential return to the India squad. Shami has returned to domestic action after almost a year of injury lay-off and will be playing for Bengal in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
