The reintroduction of Indian cricket stars in the domestic tournaments have been a positive move from the BCCI.
After the dismal outing in Australia, a BCCI guideline emphasized team India players taking part in domestic cricket. And as per the new diktat, the stalwarts of Indian cricket made themselves available for the Ranji Trophy matches.

The second phase of the Ranji Trophy has started from Thursday (January 23) as the final two group stage matches are set to take place, followed by the knockouts. And on the first day upon returning to the domestic fold, the Indian international stars have found things difficult.
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who are playing for Mumbai, got dismissed early. Shubman Gill is playing for Punjab while Rishabh Pant is in action for Delhi. Mohammed Siraj is also featuring for Hyderabad.
Rohit Sharma was abysmal as the India captain fell cheaply against Jammu and Kashmir. Rohit got dismissed for just 3 runs in 19 deliveries as Umar Nazir got his wicket.
It was a poor outing for Yashasvi Jaiswal, who got dismissed for just 4 runs. Auqib Nabi's inswinger caught the southpaw in front as he lost his wicket cheaply.
Shubman Gill also failed to score runs as he was out after just 4 runs against Karnataka.
Shreyas Iyer hit a boundary and a six early but was sent back to pavilion for just 11 runs in seven deliveries.
Rishabh Pant, who is representing Delhi against Saurashtra, got dismissed for just 1 run.
Ravindra Jadeja has so far picked up 2 wickets against Delhi and has been menacing with the ball.
