They took a flight back to Mumbai soon where the players travelled on a open bus parade amid thousands of people. Upon reaching at the Wankhede Stadium, the team was felicitated and was also handed the prize money.

Rohit Sharma also spoke at the ceremony. It was an emotional night for him who thanked the nation and the fans, depicting the final. After the felicitation, the team took a round of the stadium and Rohit was seen dancing along with Virat Kohli and others with the tunes of 'Chak de India'.

As he came back home, the India captain had another round of felicitation. His friends, family member, Mumbai Indians teammate Tilak Varma were in attendance as they welcomed the India captain with a salute. There was also the slow dance which Rohit did while collecting the T20 World Cup trophy.

The player was lifted up in the air by his near and dear ones, garlanded and there were an ocean of hugs and warmth as the 37-year-old reached his home. It was a dream for Rohit Sharma to end up on a high and the passion and dedication he had for the World Cup came to a fitting end in Barbados.

After months of emotional whirlwind, Rohit Sharma must take a deep and sound sleep on Thursday, as the city keeps on chanting 'Mumbai cha Raaja, Rohit Sharma'.
