India captain Rohit Sharma has gone to summit of World Cup centuries scored in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023.
The devastating batter scored a fantastic ton against Afghanistan on Wednesday (October 11) and has now gone past Sachin Tendulkar as the player with most ODI World Cup centuries.

Rohit Sharma surpassed the India legend and now has 7 centuries in World Cup. The India captain made his debut in the World Cup 2015 and now has seven three-figure scores in 19 innings. The India captain has a stellar record in the World Cups, scoring 10 fifty plus scores in those 19 innings, with a whopping average of 65.23 so far.
Rohit Sharma registered in 7th World Cup hundred against Afghanistan. Out of the seven centuries, Sharma scored one in the 2015 World Cup, and then backed it up with five more centuries in the 2019 World Cup.
Rohit's first century in the World Cup came agianst Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup. He scored 137 off just 126 balls in Melbourne as the Men in Blue registered a superb victory.
In the 2019 World Cup, Rohit was in a different zone. He amassed 5 centuries in the tournament, and once scored three consecutive tons in the tournament. Rohit got his first one against South Africa (122 not out), and then backed it up with a stellar hundred against Pakistan.

Then he scored a hattrick of centuries against England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka respectively.
And Sharma registered his 7th century on October 11, 2023 against Afghanistan. The India captain scored 131 off just 84 balls and now holds the record of most centuries in World Cups.
